What is BTU Capacity?

In short, BTU capacity is a measurement of an air conditioner’s ability to cool down a given space.

Now for the technical definition: (British Thermal Unit) the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of one pound of water, one degree Farenheit. There are multiple methods for determining BTU Ratings which are used by Air Conditioner Manufacturers as well as different accepted Standards for test conditions to determine these ratings.
